Animal Walk Cycle

Another animation assignment! Its an animal walking! The end bit only makes sense if you've watched Adventure Time, specifically the episode "The Eyes". I will post a like here, in case you have been deprived: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZdtZIuVzmE
Sadly, it's not the full episode, but you should find it and watch it at once.
Sadly, the quality of the video that I uploaded it really bad, so you can't even see the glorious details of the inflatable horse. That's ok.

Painting Assignment: Novel Interior

This painting assignment was to interior a novel. You had to pick a book you like and paint a room from it. I chose The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern, which is a really good book that has fantastic descriptions and concepts in it. I wanted to do an interior from the actual circus, but the point of the circus is that its black and white, and the point of the assignment was a little about colour, so that didn't really work out. The room is Prospero's dressing room, from the second chapter I think. It doesn't look like how I imagine Prospero's dressing room would look like at all, but I like the idea of this room. I sort of learned some stuff, but sadly didn't get the chance to apply it. Hopefully I'll have some time to paint some personal stuff and use it there. After I handed it in I experimented with it in the Photoshop, and learned a lot about value, which is sort of non-existent in the painting. Next time I will try better to use Light and Values.

Layout: Pan

This assignment was actually from last semester... I just found it on my USB today. I don't think I've posted it before, and I don't have anything to update, so ta-da! It's a layout! It is circus themed.

Character: Character Timeline

This is a character assignment to draw a character in various poses showing their aging process. The required ages were baby, child, teenager, adult, and old person... I just realized that I put the old guy and the adult in the wrong spots.Nooooo. Too late to change it now I guess. The mouse/rat guy's name is Monty.

Animation: Head Rotation, Lip Sync, and Expression Change

This animation assignment was a three part character animation study. We had to do a head rotation, a lip sync, and an expression change of some sort. The character I chose to do was Miguel from The Road To El Dorado, which is a great movie. I had the most trouble with the head rotation, mostly the rear facing angles. I ended up redoing it like three times, because it kept warping so much. I used a whole bunch of elipsis in the end to try and place the features. I had way more fun with the lip sync and expression change, possibly because I didn't have to clean them up, so they could stay in their rough form.

Painting Assignment: FictoPlanet

This painting assignment was all about warm and cool lighting. It was also supposed to be a fictional setting, but apparently mine isn't fictional enough because it has cars and a human in it. My original concept was cooler, so i may try to paint another version of this that looks more like I intended... or I might not.
